Dentistry

Dental disease is the most common disease condition affecting our companion animals. 70-80% of pets that we see over the age of 3 have some evidence of dental disease. As with all things related to health, prevention is the best medicine. There are many things you can do for your pets dental health at home including special diets, supplements, chews and brushing. Just like you require regular visits to your dentist to maintain good oral hygiene, most pets will require regular scale and polish procedures to fight off periodontal disease as they age. Our pets are also prone to tooth fracture and resorptive enamel lesions that may need to be removed to manage pain and secondary infections. At Nairne Vet, we offer dental radiography, hygeine and extractions under general anaesthesia.
